For studio owners
Run your studio's progression without the paperwork.
Most studios keep promotions in the head coach's memory. Atlas gives you a record of every student's path to the next stripe or belt, and asks almost nothing of you, your coaches or your families. Free to start, with no card.
Start your studioAttendance isn't the product. Progression is.
A gym counts visits. A martial arts studio is different: every student is working toward a stripe or a belt, and that promotion rests on time at rank, the techniques they've covered and the coach's judgement. In most small studios none of it is written down. It lives in the head coach's memory.
That costs everyone. Parents ask why another child was promoted and theirs wasn't, and there's no record to point to. Students can't see what to work on next. Coaches and owners avoid software because setting it up costs more than it saves. Atlas keeps the record for almost no effort, so the conversation about progress starts from facts.
How Atlas works
- 1
The coach writes one sentence
Before or after class, a coach types what it covered: “arm locks from guard, then positional sparring.” Atlas matches the words to techniques in the studio's own library and shows them as chips. The coach confirms, removes or adds one. When the match isn't clear, Atlas can ask an AI model for help, and still nothing is saved until the coach confirms.
- 2
Everyone who was there gets credit
Students check in by scanning the studio's code. When the class closes, every student who checked in is credited with every technique it covered. A class nobody closes closes itself at the end of the day, with the plan.
- 3
Everyone sees where they stand
Coaches see each student's time at rank, classes and skills against the studio's own requirements, as advice. Families see their belt, stripes and attendance as plain numbers, and skills in plain words: covered, working on it, coming up next.
What Atlas holds to
The coach decides
Requirements inform a promotion and never block one. Every stripe and every belt is a coach's call, and Atlas never awards, removes or changes a rank on its own.
No comparisons
No rankings, no leaderboards. A family sees their own child's record, never another child's, and families can't message each other.
Almost no effort
No menus of techniques, no student data entry, no roll call. Students enrol themselves with the studio's code, and the studio approves them.
Each studio's records stay its own
A studio's students, classes and notes are kept apart from every other studio's. Its staff see its records, and each family sees only its own children.
Atlas is built for Brazilian jiu jitsu today, with its adult and kids belt ladders. Judo and karate are coming. Adult students enrol today; parents enrolling their children is coming.
Set up in minutes
Setup asks for four things: your studio's name, a first location, your discipline and your time zone. Your curriculum, belt ladders and promotion settings load from sensible defaults, so there's no configuration screen to work through and no student data to type in. Your requirements, techniques and settings can be changed later, whenever you want; changing the belt ladders themselves is coming.
- 1
Create the studio
Sign in with your email, then name the studio and its first location. Add more locations, a second mat or a second site, later.
- 2
Put up your code
Atlas gives your studio one code, as a QR code to print for the wall and the front desk, or to share as a link. Adult students scan it to join and, later, to check in.
- 3
Add your classes
Set up your weekly schedule once, kids and adults, and Atlas fills in the classes week by week.
- 4
Invite your coaches
Send each coach a one-time invite link. You're a coach by default, too.
- 5
Log your first class
Type one sentence about what it covered. That's the moment Atlas starts keeping your record.
What you get
Students enrol themselves
Adult students scan your code and ask to join; parents enrolling their children is coming. You approve each request with one tap, or turn on automatic approval once you trust the flow. Strangers can't add themselves.
Classes logged in seconds
A coach types what the class covered and confirms the suggested techniques. Attendance comes from check-ins, and a class nobody closes closes itself with the plan.
Promotion readiness, as advice
Time at rank, classes attended and skills covered, against your own requirements for each rank. It informs every stripe and belt, and never blocks one.
Belt gradings, start to finish
Plan a grading for a date. Atlas proposes candidates as of that day (ready, close, and everyone else) each with a reason. Your coaches choose who goes forward, families are invited, and you record pass or defer on the day.
Fewer hallway conversations
Adult students see their own progress, and ask the coach a structured question instead of catching you after class; parents will too, once enrolling children opens. Questions wait in one queue, with the student's record beside them.
The studio at a glance
Your dashboard shows members by rank, check-ins over the last 30 days and the next classes with their attendance. It's for you and your staff only: families never see figures across students.

Start your studioYour studio, your rules
Your curriculum
Start from the default technique library for your discipline and add the names your coaches actually use, so Atlas matches their words.
Your requirements
Set what each rank asks for: time at rank, classes attended, and techniques covered or mastered, by category. They're shown as advice, never as a gate.
How readiness is shown
Advisory, checklist or scored. Set one for the whole studio, or leave it to each coach for what coaches see; adult students see the checklist or scored version only when the studio sets it for everyone. Parents and children always see the gentle version.
Mistakes you can undo
An admin can revert a promotion within a grace window you set. If the family had already been told about it, they're told about the correction too; if not, the message never goes out.
What it does for the business
Students who can see their progress have a reason to keep coming, and a parent who understands why a promotion happened has nothing to complain about. Atlas gives you that without adding a job to anyone's day. The coach's only obligation is one sentence a class; everything else, from enrolment to the parent's view, is a by-product of what your studio already does.
Questions
What does Atlas cost?
Atlas is free to start, with no card on file. There's nothing to buy today.
Which martial arts does it support?
Brazilian jiu jitsu today, with its adult and kids belt ladders and a default technique library. Judo and karate are coming.
Do I have to enter my students?
No. Adult students enrol themselves by scanning your code. When an admin approves each one, they set the student's current belt and stripes once, and Atlas keeps it from there. Parents enrolling their children is coming.
Will my coaches actually use it?
Their whole obligation is one sentence a class, and even that can be the plan they set beforehand: closing a class is one tap, and a class nobody closes closes itself. Marking a skill, writing a note and answering a parent are all optional.
Does Atlas decide who gets promoted?
Never. Requirements are advice. Atlas shows the facts and proposes candidates for a grading, and every award is a coach's decision. Nothing about a rank changes without one.
What if a suggested technique is wrong?
Nothing is saved until the coach confirms the chips. Suggestions come from your own library, and the names your coaches add are matched first, so it gets closer to how your studio talks.
Can parents see other children, or a score?
No. Each family sees only their own children. Parents see attendance as plain numbers and skills in plain words, never a percentage, a raw mark or a skill named as missing.
We run more than one location or mat. Does that work?
Yes. A studio can have several locations, and every class is held at one.
Can I take bookings or limit class sizes?
Optionally. Give a class a capacity and students can reserve a spot, with a waitlist that moves up automatically when a spot frees. Classes without a capacity work as before.
Is there an app?
Atlas works in any phone or computer browser, and can be added to a phone's home screen. An iPhone app is coming.
